Meet Martha Harms!

New KDT Artistic Company Member Martha Harms is no newbie to Dallas theater. Seen all over town, most recently in the hit On the Eve, Harms has landed at The MAC to bring to life marketing-loving Allison in RX at Kitchen Dog Theater.

FAVORITE PRE-/POST-SHOW MEAL
I love a huge, steaming home-cooked meal when I come home from doing a show. It's the best thing.

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE LITTLE?
I wanted to be a veterinarian.

WORST FLUBBED LINE/MISSED CUE/ONSTAGE MISHAP
In high school, I played Cassie in A Chorus Line. She has a little break after her big solo and then everyone else "rehearses" [the song] "One Singular Sensation." She's supposed to join the chorus, but I totally misjudged how much time I had. I was eating an apple in the band room. A crew member ran to get me and in a panic I threw my apple over my shoulder and bolted to the stage.

A PLAY THAT HASN'T BEEN DONE ON A DALLAS STAGE BUT SHOULD BE DONE
I hear Max Hartman would really like to do a revival of Cats.

ONE PLAY YOU HOPE YOU NEVER SEE AGAIN
The Last Cigarette by Steven Fechter. Bleh.

IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT HOLDS DALLAS BACK FROM THEATRICAL GREATNESS
We all need day jobs.

BUCKET LIST ROLES
Hedda Gabler

IF YOU HAD TO RUN A SHOW FOR 10 YEARS AND YOU GOT TO CHOOSE - WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Breath by Samuel Beckett

 SUPERSTITIONS?
I knock on wood. The one time I didn't, I was driving in my car with my mom and said, "Mom, I've never been in an accident." Two hours later I smashed into a Jaguar.

DREAM PROFESSION IF YOU DIDN'T BECOME AN ARTIST?
Maybe a pediatric occupational therapist.
